Green Initiatives
Preserving for the Future
At the Churchill Hotel, we are mindful of our conservation and preservation responsibilities to the community around us. We have joined the Crestline Hotels and Resorts’ EarthPact program as a sign of our commitment to be a leader in environmentally responsible lodging and hospitality services. Here are some of the green initiatives in place to ensure that our hotel is supporting sustainability:
- Offering special discounts for guests that drive hybrid cars
- Installation of energy efficient lighting
- Renovation of HVAC systems
- Installation of energy efficient equipment and appliances
- Decorating with plants instead of flowers to absorb indoor pollution
- Offering reusable glass cups, mugs, dishes and cloth napkins instead of disposable
- Recycling cans, bottles and paper
- Offering a towel and linen reuse program
- Offering newspapers on request to reduce waste
- Emailing rather than printing reports, confirmations, menus and contracts
- Purchasing office supplies made from recycled or sustainable materials whenever possible
We are also working on two additional green initiatives that will be in place in the near future:
- Installation of low-flow showerheads, sinks and toilets
- Installation of sensors & timers
