When the XIX International AIDS Conference takes place in Washington, D.C. July 22-27, 2012, the event will bring together experts working in the field of HIV, policy makers, persons living with HIV and other individuals invested in ending the pandemic, as well as provide a global platform to discuss recent scientific developments and progress made so far. With the theme, "Turning the Tide Together," the conference will underscore that the AIDS epidemic is at a defining moment, where momentum for a cure is possible by acting on recent advances in HIV treatment and biomedical prevention. Programming for the largest gathering of professionals working in the field of HIV will feature comprehensive sessions that will include abstract-driven presentations to symposia and more, and touch on how continued investments and collaborations in research, efficient delivery systems and the promotion of human rights are imperative to actually change the course of the epidemic. Attendees will also be able to participate in professional development and networking during the conference.
