The deep, rich vocals of Tim "Trésoul the Artist" Brooks call to mind legendary soulful crooners like Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye and Jeffrey Osborne. This Washington native also has hip-hop and neo-soul roots, which you'll hear when he brings his powerful pipes to the Howard Theatre R&B Soul Brunch. Trésoul the Artist takes the stage with his latest creation, BlaqPearlDC, a hand-picked group of "rhythm assassins" whose members -- including drummer Vinton Jones, Mike Bennett and singer Stephanie Kristina -- have played with everyone from Will Downing to Robert Glasper to BeBe & CeCe Winans. They'll crank out a blend of smooth soul, hip-hop, dance and classic R&B that sets the perfect tone for brunch.
