  • WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO GET TO THE AU CAMPUS?

    The main campus is located at 4400 Massachusetts Avenue NW in Washington. The DC Metro Bus routes M4, N2, N4, and N6 stop at the AU main campus near the Katzen Arts Center. Or, take the metro from the Tenleytown-AU stop on the Red line. From the station, hop on to the AU shuttle that is located on the corner of 40th St. NW and Ablemarle St. NW, in front of Whole Foods.
  • WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF OPERATION FOR THE AU SHUTTLE?

    American University runs a shuttle bus service to and from the Tenleytown-AU Metro station on the Red Line. Shuttle buses run every 10 minutes from the Tenleytown-AU Metro station to the McKinley/Letts shuttle stops. Please note that the north-side shuttle stop behind Kogod will not be in use and the tunnel roadway will be closed over commencement weekend.
     
    • Express Route starts from Metro M - F at 7 a.m
    • Blue Route starts from South Campus M - F at 6:10 a.m.
    • Green Route starts at Kerwin Hall, M - F at 7:50 a.m.
     
    Weekend hours start at 7:50 a.m. from Main Campus and 8:06 a.m. from Metro (Blue Route). Red Express runs on Saturdays, starting at 8:45 a.m. (metro) and 9 a.m. (SVB).
